The Darangilaü- Guatemala

Welcome to the Darangilaü - your personal piece of Paradise. The Ocean meets the Jungle here and makes Glamping a unique experience. Located on a hill, you can enjoy amazing 360 views - sunrise and sunset. There are no direct neigbours, all you can hear at night are the sounds of the jungle. Darangilaü means "Peace and Tranquility" and this place really deserves its name. It has a private beach, where swimming and snorkeling is possible. The place is run by Alejandro and Rossana, a Guatemalan couple that decided to focus their life on nature in a relaxing environment. They are already looking forward to hosting you and sharing their amazing location with you!

Overview

The area around Izabal and Livingstone is simply stunning. Pure nature, the sea and the Rio Dulce close by invite for adventures. We will have the opportunity to hike, to explore the river by boat, and work under the blue skies - ending the evenings with a beautiful campfire to share experiences. Hangmats are inviting you to take a rest, and the pool will give you the opportunity to refresh yourself quickly in between. The place offers enough space to be on your own as well if you feel like retreating. The Darangilaü will offer you everything you need to reconnect to yourself, to nature and to get grounded again. The retreat takes place outside of the rainy season, so we should have lots of sunshine and temperatures around 85 degrees Fahrenheit (30 degrees Celsius) during the day, and mild summer nights.

The Facilities

Darangilaü is the first campsite in Guatemala that offers Glamping - the combination of Glamour and Camping. This gives you more comfort than staying in a tent - real beds and furniture, yet the close contact to nature. The Darangilaü has six cabins. The two big lodges have one double and two single beds,  the small lodges are equipped with three single beds. While it might feel uncomfortable first, to share a room with people you don't know yet, it is not only a very good exercise to get out of your comfort zone, but will open up a whole new sense of community living. The lodges are equipped with air conditioning and plasma TV. They share a common outside bathroom, which is also completely equipped. Another option is to sleep in a tent, suitable for one, two or three persons including light, a camping cot including pillow and covers.  Note that there is no stable internet connection available at the Darangilaü, so you would have to buy a local SIM Card if you would like to stay connected.

The restaurant offers freshly cooked local food and will take your specific eating preferences (vegetarian, vegan, food intolerances) into account.
